When I was creating this painting, I was inspired by the views of Candidasa. It is a small town in the East part of Bali. Here close to the ocean is where I live with my love. In the evenings we love watching sunsets. At winter time the sun is settling down right at the ocean horizon, and at summer time it hides behind the hills. Sunset is always a mesmerizing event. The sun turns into a huge, alive and breathing, fire ball. This painting is a part of my category “Beginning of a new era”, whereas the sunset symbolizes the ending of the old era and the full-moon represents the beginning of a new one; the one that is still unknown, that is glowing and is full with energy.
