It is painted on a stretched 80 x 160 cm canvas stretcher bars and professional oil paints in impressionist style. The canvas is gallery wrapped. This is the legendary Superstition Mountain in Arizona. Originally thought by the Indians to be the home of the gods, the mountain received recent attention as the possible home of the Lost Dutchman Mine. The mine is named after German immigrant Jacob Waltz (c. 1810–1891), who purportedly discovered it in the 19th century and kept its location a secret. It is a place of great beauty and mystery.
