I am a British realist oil painter who works with gold and precious metal leaf. My creative practice is concerned with the exploration and rejuvenation of creative processes that have been practiced for centuries, as I'm as much driven by the craft and classical methods of painting, as the image making itself. Much of my focus is on researching and using the finest materials to create a high quality piece of work that will give pleasure for more than a lifetime. My work is deeply rooted in the investigation of our unconscious response to beauty and the natural world surrounding us; how the deep observation of plants and flowers can create a world within a world, evoke memories and stir unexpected emotions within. I sell my work direct to collectors, or by commission privately and commercially. I particularly love direct connection with a collector; commissioning a painting can become a collaborative process to create a piece of work that brings great joy and is deeply treasured.
