About The Artwork

The lone lighthouse on Tasman Island off the Tasmanian southeast coast is the highest lighthouse in Australia. Portrayed very early on a Winter's morning when the sun had not yet risen. All was blue, all was calm and very very quiet with the red hint to a fabulous day to come. The name was inspired by the fabulous ultramarine blue color of this image. "Blue has no dimensions, it is beyond dimensions, whereas the other colors are not. They are pre-psychological expanses, red, for example, presupposing a site radiating heat. All colors arouse specific associative ideas, psychologically material or tangible, while blue suggests at most the sea and sky, and they, after all, are in actual, visible nature what is most abstract." Yves Klein Inspired by the stunning reflection of light on the water of the Tasmanian coast, this original artwork is a classic piece that would hang beautifully in any small space or gallery wall People often say that they love my paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. SPECIAL FEATURES * Original, hand painted in acrylics * Heirloom quality materials * Framed with Tasmanian Oak * Certificate of Authenticity supplied * Signature in the front left corner I love to keep my customers happy, and I have had some great reviews, here is one. "Hi Bruce – My name is Liz, I purchased the desert landscapes Saturday after seeing them on opening night Friday. I was going to purchase just one, but I couldn’t bear the thought of separating them. They compliment each other and create movement and narrative that wouldn’t be complete without the other. Love your work, excited to see more."

Bruce is a multi-media artist based in Brisbane, Australia, with paintings, photography and mixed-media works represented in corporate and private collections globally. Trained in fine art practices and techniques, honed over four decades in advertising photography, Bruce travels, photographs and paints full time. Exploring the finer aspects of composition, balance, harmony and design he loves breaking the rules, often turning mistakes into ideas and subsequent artworks. His work is energetic and dynamic, reflecting the colors of his native New Zealand and the vibrancy and experiences of the Australian Landscape where he lives, travels and loves. He incorporates layers of acrylic, oils, inks and glazes, applied with brushes, sponges and textured media to create depth. Rhythm and motion are the driving forces of Bruce’s art, utilizing a simplistic exchange between realistic representation and the abstract form. His signature collections include Sun Glitter, Ocean Spirit, Primordial Landscapes, Seascapes and the Lightscapes series.
