About The Artwork
Tempest is a painting inspired by the romantic landscapes of Frederich and Turner and the natural Alberta skies. Painted in the studio as a fictional landscape, Tempest depicts an interest in the changing landscape between dusk and the dark of night. I labelled the series 'Mindscapes' as the made up 'places' seem to be metaphorical for states of mind. The art of painting mimics the art of living, attempting to render an advanced state of mind, comes with the ability to imagine a fresh perspective.
