About The Artwork

In "No 2 - The Battle" of my "Angels and Robots" triplets, I address one of the most pressing issues we currently face in AI development. We are on the brink of a battle with AI, and to convey this message, I have combined the painting "Amor Vincit Omnia" by Caravaggio with footage of Boston Robotics' robot dog in combat. Given that this is a technological battle, I used cool and warm blues with yellow and orange sparks. However, I chose the romantic angel in "Amor Vincit Omnia" rather than a heroic one, as I wanted to create a battle that symbolizes love and hate. By using the romantic angel in "Amor Vincit Omnia" rather than a heroic one, I wanted to convey a sense of conflict that is not just physical, but also emotional and psychological. The battle between humans and AI is not just a clash of technologies but also a clash of values and beliefs. On one hand, AI has the potential to revolutionize our lives and help us solve some of the world's most pressing problems. On the other hand, it also poses significant risks, including the possibility of job loss, privacy violations, and even existential threats to humanity. The choice of warm and cool blues with yellow and orange sparks was deliberate, as it represents the clash of two opposing forces: AI's cool and rational logic versus the warm and emotional human experience. The sparks of yellow and orange symbolize the tension and conflict between these two forces as they collide in a battle for dominance. Overall, my goal was to create a battle scene that conveys not only the technological aspects of the conflict but also the emotional and philosophical dimensions of the struggle between humans and AI.
