The Divide Painting

This piece represents a strip of land cutting through a large body of water; an island perhaps, with vegetation, rocks and a rolling surface. The water on either side of the land has a sense of movement as it is full of texture. Where the water meets the land, the water has a foamy, white edge to capture the sense of the water moving against the land. The painting features a bold colour palette which includes rich blues, gold and copper, alongside cool white and turquoise. Pebeo acrylic paint has been used on stretched canvas and finished with Pebeo Satin Varnish to protect the surface of the piece and to provide a subtle sheen.
