My third painting inspired by news reports of the 2018 Royal wedding at Windsor. The concept of expection of becoming Queen and the loss through Abdication and exile explored in the subject of Wallis Simpson. The image exudes human warmth and compassion of a woman embroiled in constitutional controversy over her relationship with the King of England. Viewers will share her predicament with sympathy. The US flag symbol and bright colours indicate her citizenship and role as a global fashion icon.
