The work is the interpretation of the artist’s surrealistic poem about a child that plays with the fringes of God’s hair. As it keeps combing them, the child remains unaware that (human) time grows along these fringes, and that therefore it is playing with time as well. When suddenly the childs falls into ‘Lampenbrunnen’ -- a well fashioned of lamps -- it emits a loud cry that explodes in its eyes and remains standing there. The text of the German poem together with an English translation is found at http://www.ottolaske.com/documents/German-Complete.pdf. To render the simultaneity of only seemingly unrelated events, the work superimposes three unrelated drawings that nevertheless consistently communicate with each other. The work is a visual commentary on the multiplicity of events constituting a world inaccessible to common sense and the thinking in linear time. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.

I am an experimental artist working in digital painting, graphics, abstract photography, animation, and textile design. My work is abstract in the sense that I invent shapes, colors, and textures without reference to representational concerns. Working entirely digitally, I consider the boundaries between domains of visual art as entirely permeable. Since I work with a large variety of tools aided by a mastery of controlled random, the outcome of my composition and design processes are unpredictable; their results often straddle the line between established visual-art categories. The majority of my visual work is found on SaatchiArt where my musical compositions and German and English poetry are found at www.ottolaske.com. Outside of my artistic work, I am the founder and director of the Interdevelopmental Institute (IDM), a graduate-level teaching institute for those interested in adult-developmental thinking and research.
