A very figurative painting, leaning toward the abstract with an array of complimentary coloration. I spent weeks painting a perfectly structured face, focusing on the eyes. I wanted the eyes to be a focus and very soulful. At that juncture the face was too representative (in my mind), and so, using various tools, I began deconstructing it and adding large brush strokes with color spread throughout. Features began to fade iinto the background becoming more subtle and then "she" became anybody and everybody. Exuding doubt, fear, hope maybe, introspection....... emotions we all go through... expecially in these times.
A work of art that will promote conversation and interest.

I am a University graduate with a degree in art……………..but that does NOT make me the painter I am! Living in Florida full time, means color attacks my senses on an ongoing basis. I see it, I breathe it, I touch it, I LIVE it!!! I love to use an abundance of color and I very intentionally violate the rules. if I’ve caused someone to STOP and LOOK and THINK about my work then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. It is all part of the journey of creativity………..and then the anticipation of it all………… How will the viewer perceive my art and will they be touched by it.
