About The Artwork

I created this winter landscape recently, but I sketched some small sketches about a year ago. The painting depicts the approaching end of winter; the river has already shed its ice, and in a few weeks, the snow will almost melt away. This transitional period inspired me with its contrast. But most importantly, these are the surroundings of my city in Ukraine, and this is especially valuable to me personally. The work is done on 100% cotton paper with a density of 300 g/m² and professional watercolor paints from leading world brands. The artwork bears the author's signature and is an original piece.

Yurii Prisiazhniy was born in 1986 in Zeya Amur’s region, current Russian Federation. His family moved to Chernihiv Ukraine when he was a child. The contrast and the way between Eastern Russia and Northern Ukraine laid the scale for his future art journey. The Art didn’t become the base in his life at first, as he was daydreaming and searching his life path. 1998-2002 Yurii was visiting Oleg Sinelnikov’s art studio while he was studying at school. Yurii got the archeological degree in the Chernihiv national university, historical faculty. Historical education, with its fundamental humanitarian baggage, was a call to art. He took training courses of academic art in Kharkiv’s National university of construction and architecture, and Svitlana’s Nenazhenko art classes in Chernihiv. With a time artist started to participate in Ukrainian art exhibitions and festivals of modern art. Today Yurii Prisiazhniy is a part of National art Union of Ukraine and has several solo exhibitions behind him. However, official listing do not identify the young creator. The author himself is a multifaceted graphic artist, watercolorist, with a subtle sense of emotion and an almost meditative approach to reality that gives his works a sign of magical realism. This is clearly demonstrated by his interests in visual arts, where he gets inspired from authors like Yurii Kuper, Joseph Zbukvic and Isaac Levitan. This is a contrast mix of classic and modern, ambient and metal,John's Fowles postmodernism and Oleksii's Losev philosophical approach, which define Yurii's deep features of creativity - clarity and melanholy expression.
