The Youth // From my Bulls Eye series. American culture has always influenced the island of Jamaica, just as Jamaican culture has in turn influenced American culture through fashion, dance styles and music. The Bulls Eye series of paintings explores the coming together of these two very different cultures through large scale romaticised cinema poster images taking inspiration from vintage comic book imagery and dancehall culture. This is an unframed original painting on 250gsm Somerset Cotton Rag, a sustainably sourced archival 100% cotton paper made at St Cuthberts Mill in Somerset, UK. Hand-Painted by Robin in her Sydney studio. The painting is signed and dated by Robin in the bottom right corner.

I'm a Contemporary Jamaican artist / illustrator / animator with a passion for promoting my native culture. This shines through in my work which takes inspiration from Jamaica's vibrant pop culture referencing various elements on the island such as street slang, party names and dance techniques. Within my studio practice I employ painting, drawing, printmaking and digital techniques to build a picture of modern Jamaica. I strive to create work that reflects a society that is imaginative, inventive, colourful, resilient and never shy of a likkle controversy. I've had the opportunity to exhibit my work around the world.
