- 81x81 cm, cardboard, polyurethane foam, fiberboard, acrylic What is space, existence, reality? An endless alternation of one of two possible options: yes and no, something and nothing, matter and emptiness, life and death, cross and zero. We play while we are alive, knowing how the game will end ... Each zero - our regalia, position, status - is a futile attempt to grab onto the straw of our own significance, forgetting about the inevitable doom of being. Each cross is a reminder of this. Man plays his part with God, it is swift and obvious. There is no choice - there is no freedom. Only a quiet echo is sometimes heard in the sounds of the violin and piano, illegibly visible in multi-colored strokes on canvases, imperceptibly noticeable in the movements of a beautiful body. Art is mourning for oneself. Monochrome composition based on a children's game with a non-childish meaning. Embedded crosses mean the inevitability of the victory of the crosses, wherever the zeros are. The playing field embodies the grid as a symbol of the prison, from which you can only be released by losing. Thus, defeat turns into victory. Each person both loses and wins the game at the same time

VML - original tandem of creative artists: Maria Lipovskaya and Vadim Lipovskiy Architects by education, family by life and creators by vocation, we are engaged in the production of non-trivial paintings. Hello. My name is Maria Lipovskaya. I was born and raised in the capital of Belarus in a family of architects and artists. Since childhood, I have been surrounded by paintings, projects, handmade things. All my life I have lived in an atmosphere of passion for all kinds of art. I graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of BNTU and tried myself in all creative directions. I had a freedom that I didn't know what to do with. I went a long and winding path to myself, many times experiencing the collapse of all my foundations: leaving the profession, moving from city to village, living in Spartan conditions, constantly searching for some meaning, long roads leading nowhere, eternal alienation. Easily becoming one's own among strangers, I forever remained a stranger among them. And here I am, and I no longer need a sign that I'm on the right track. I found what I was looking for... In 2021, my first painting was born, and everything was different. Thanks to painting, I found the best thing I have - the lack of self-worth. All my life I have been immersed in myself, but now I look at the world, which is undoubtedly bigger, more complex, more beautiful. I dissolve in it, weightless, and there are many of me, endlessly. I can feel this world and speak back through my paintings. I have reached the possibility of true self-expression. Now past values are not important, I am light and can fly. Come up with interesting ideas, compose new meanings, discover unknown worlds...I like to create ground for ambiguous opinion. We live in 8 billion parallel universes because reality is the truth of every beholder. Hello. My name is Lipovsky Vadim. I was born in the outback of Belarus and grew up among simple and understandable things, far from art. I was very crowded in this little world and I expanded my boundaries with literature. Books filled my inner world with vivid images and experiences that I could not express. Until I came to books about art. I was inspired by the paintings of Nicholas Roerich, Salvador Dali and Gustav Klimt. Having received a profession, he worked as an architect, designer, and was engaged in outdoor advertising. Most of the time he specialized in 3D modeling. I have always liked working with volume.
