Before the City of São Paulo existed, there was a farm with a green house where the seven daughters of the Toledo family lived, they were known as "the green house girls". Currently, the green house bridge crosses the Tietê river and constitutes the road system, where traffic is congested, pollution, asphalt and large buildings turn the city grey. In the painting, the bridge that connects the present and the past, the girls each with their own personality, the worried, the fearless, the disdainful, the resilient, the carefree, the indifferent, and the dreamer who lets her hat fly... The bridge it also marks the past of crystal clear waters, full of fish, with a colorful atmosphere, in contrast to the current conditions of the Tietê River with totally polluted waters. This painting is being shown in the River in Motion exhibition, at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation Museum of Life, in Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition began on December 20, 2019, it was interrupted at the beginning of the pandemic, and then it was reassembled. Due to the great success of visitation, the exhibition was extended by two years, finished at December, 20, 2023. You can watch videos about the exhibition at: https://youtu.be/mFbMcL7KrQ8
