This first "Totem" shows a naked body seen from the back which is presented as a somewhat abstract vertical sculpture: arms and head have disappeared, only two legs remain and a back which looks big and massive. Looking more closely, we see that the surface of this strange sculpture is multicolored, but with faded colors; moreover, it flakes off in places, as if scraps of a painted poster were detached under the influence of passing time and bad weather. This painting is an original artwork made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting. The surface is shiny, with transparent squares popping out at the surface. The work is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 50 x 20 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
