About The Artwork
This is the latest from my series that depict the shapes, patterns and distortions of water. Some light on the surface and some almost abstract shapes underneath the surface. I have always been fascinated by water in its many forms and have developed this style of painting the subject. The combination of meticulous blending and layering of the oil colour ready with the fairly smooth weave of the linen canvas produces a smooth surface. The canvas is stretched over a composite stretcher and the painted image is continued around the outer edge. This contemporary style of presentation requires no additional framing. The painting is supplied to hand, with the necessary hardware and advice.

I have long been fascinated with painting water and nudes in water. I find the reflective properties, the movement and the distorting qualities of water provide me with a wealth of challenges. I find that although my aim is always to produce a high degree of realism in my paintings I am constantly using sequences of abstract shapes to achieve an effect. With superb and interesting techniques he infuses a harmony between natural realism and the painted surface creating subtle yet dramatic imagery.
