About The Artwork

Traveling with water Bohuslän's coast, a rocky road Nature's grand journey. The inspiration for this paints came from a visit to rock carvings in Tanum near Tanumshede, Bohuslän, Sweden which I visited in March 2022. I was impressed by to see how the sophisticated craftsmen and travellers by water apparently met during celebration events in summer to celebrate the sun, and came together from all over Scandinavia. Later I read the chapter in a new book by Tine Eiby (vandets stille hvisken in Danish, April 7 2022 Grønningen1) about the bonze age culture, and this inspired me to draft this painting. I added additional layers to show depth, and geometric patterns to make first layer visible, with inspiration from ancient forms.

I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
