Unexpected Wonderful Painting

Unexpected Wonderful is part of the Road Trip series. Road trips rock. Just throwing my backpack in the car, the thought of new experiences, and I’m craving adventure. New scenery around every bend and every stop. New horizons always, well, on the horizon. It was on such a road tip through Nebraska that I chased a foreboding sky. One that was deep slate blue, with a single strip of charcoal black at the very bottom edge, where the ground meets the cloud. The fields and grass were bright chartreuse, the color of new buds in the spring, and in the summer, a color palette those in the midwest know signifies dangerous weather. Plump raindrops fell on my windshield, my wiper blades smearing the color across my view, fracturing the landscape. A new series was born. Price’s newest work is inspired by the myriad of landscapes seen on road trips. Price is passionate about travel, and the fractured, cubist-esque work is reflective of the ever changing landscape seen, the opportunities that arise, the avenues traveled, and the experiences had. The paintings inspire meditation and wanderings of the imagination. Price recently exhibited in the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris The work is painted on all sides on a gallery wrapped canvas. Hanging hardware included. Framing not needed.
