About The Artwork
Bobur Ismoilov, the author of this painting, is one of the famous artists of Central Asia today. Almost every picture of the artist reflects time: motifs of antiquity, warriors of bygone centuries, dervishes, ancient ornaments. Bobur Ismoilov subtly uses ethnographic elements in his canvases. Also in the artist's works, there is a grotesque mixture of cultures: the East, little medieval Europe, a little modernity. This makes the pictorial language universal and perceivable for everyone. The plot of this picture refers us to the middle of the 6th century BC, a time when the great queen Tumaris used cunning to defeat the "king of kings" Cyrus II, the ruler of Persia.
