Self-taught painter born in 1965 in Portugal, José Luis presents an instantly recognizable mixed technique. From his interest in the expressiveness of materials is born a materialist painting, light and undeniably contemporary. At the age of 30, he followed this powerful inner call which undoubtedly pushed him to explore the world of art and painting. Since his childhood in the countryside, he has been expressly attracted by experimenting with the world, playing with shapes, colors and materials. His love for the natural beauty of things encouraged him to paint this playground on canvas, attempting to recreate the intuitive genius of nature that got him so fascinated as a child. He chose abstract painting which allows him to express the complexity of the images that lives in his unconscious mind, to recreate the fusion of his inner moods. His purpose is to immerse people in a point of view of the coalescence of matter and shapes in order to capture their essence.
