About The Artwork

Materials: Acrylic and paint remains on canvas Frame: no frame Finish: sating-glossy varnish Signature and date: on the back The Corona crisis has been a huge global challenge. Lockdowns, partly very strict with people being forbidden to leave the house except for shopping for weeks have put additional stress to all the anxieties and worries brought up by the crisis. For us artists it has been an intense time. With exhibitions and fairs being cancelled and postponed till next year, we lose a basic opportunity to show our work and earn money. For me personally the lockdown is a time of emotional and existential upheaval: will I survive as an artist? Will we survive as humans? What will happen to me, us, the world? What will remain from the "old life"? How will we carry on? ... This work is the first of a series of two I created in the very beginning of the lockdown. The blue and white are applied smoothly, calmly, and a few remains of dried paint from my palette are worked into the lower part of the painting. The work is signed and dated on the back and sold without a frame.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a Czech-born and now Germany based painter. In my works I explore the essence of what surrounds me: why do people act the way they do? What lies beneath the surface of what meets the eye? What are we driven by? To express what I sense beneath the surface I feel drawn to different materials and a range of colours, which I apply in different layers on my canvases and papers, using a variety of techniques including scratching, brushing and printing. This way expressive works are created, some reduced to basic expressions, others rich in colour and texture.
