About The Artwork
In December of 2016, we were told of a coming arctic front and on the weather channel, it looked like a colorful vortex of energy forming in the arctic. I tried to imagine it abstractly. The result is this painting. The vortex was formed by a fine pumice paste and my hands which made it a lot of fun. I love textural paintings and I like having my hands in my paintings. The black wrap-around back-ground in contrast is very smooth with several layers for intensity. This was varnished in an archival quality Satin varnish of at least 4 coats. I tried signing the front right corner in white but it looked bad, I've signed the back instead. More photos coming for this one. Stay Tuned.
