About The Artwork
I received the antique landscape painting, painted in 1945 by a painter named L. Mielke, as a gift from an antique dealer. The winter landscape inspired me to paint a dancing woman in it. When the painting then hung in a gallery, a guest approached me that he liked so much how the hair of the woman merges into the branches. As if they had grown together. I love it when I only understand afterwards what I have painted intuitively. The forest and the woman but also the past of the old painting and the woman from the present become ONE. I have expressed here the feeling that I have in the forest. Being at home, being connected and the timelessness of my being. The old painting would normally stand lost in an attic, but now it gets a continuation, a complement and hangs again with the people. Currently it hangs with me in the studio. Maybe soon with you in the living room ;-)

Widersprüchlichkeit und Einheit, Harmonie und Spannung entstehen und wollen den Betrachter zu einer Reise durch Raum und Zeit verführen.
