Wuhan Virus (consequence of suppressing the truth) Painting

I love Chinese food and have Chinese friends. And as a concerned global citizen and an artist, I felt compelled to express my thoughts over the Chinese government’s latest tactic to shift the blame of the origin of the current global pandemic that they most likely have caused by suppressing the truth when it started in China in Dec. 2019. The current reality in Europe and in the U.S. could have been managed (if not prevented) some 3 months ago, had the Chines government allowed the truth to prevail and let its doctors be free to tell the truth/deal with the outbreak early on. This suppression of the truth only confirms that the world must reject all forms of socialism and communism. When a state and is controlled by just a few players in absolute power, their way of dealing with inconvenient truth can literally kill thousands of innocent and unsuspecting people not only within but outside their borders. This painting grew out of my personal pain and anguish, the sense of helplessness at the sufferings of the people and countries I deeply care about. It infuriates me that our way of life is completely disrupted and we are now forced to embrace so called “social distancing.” If you can make use of my visual statement about truth, I would be most gratified. The truth not only matters, it saves lives. Suppressing the truth has caused this global pandemic. This could have been managed had we known the truth in December or even in January as the South Korean situation became clear how the virus rapidly spreads. Lives could have been saved! The truth as we know it is that this is a Chinese virus. It is unforgivable that the Chinese government not only let it become a global problem, it is now trying to blame the U.S. for its origin. Hence, the title of this paining is “Wuhan Virus. (the consequence of suppressing the truth)” The best way to hold the Chinese government responsible for their unforgivable act is for the world to never FORGET. I hope this visual reminder of the truth also help us remember that all form of socialism, especially communism must be rejected by the world.
