yellow house (#architecture series) Painting

"Yellow house" symbolizes my childhood. I tried to capture the portrait of the house where I lived for many years with my family. The inner yard was always full of kids having fun there. I remember different smells coming from widely open windows before the lunch time: soup, fried potato, plov and etc. All these small, but important details made our area cozy place to live at. This particular artwork is a part of my #architecture series. I started working on #architecture series during summertime in 2021. Mostly I was inspired by buildings created during Soviet era. There are many residential buildings constructed in "Stalinki" style which is pretty iconic in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. "Stalinki" residential buildings have spacious rooms, deep basement, and all of them were built from bricks. I love walking around the city and taking pictures of all buildings, that I find attractive. I use my photographs as a reference. My #architecture series started with house, where I grow up. It was built in 1957. Survived the strongest earthquake in 1966. It was designed by architect Alexander Viktorovich Yakushev. House № 22 is located at the intersection of Pushkin and Khamid Alimdzhan street.
