About The Artwork

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. This boy is one of the beloved subjects I have ever photographed. From a working class with low social status, he was so absorbed and tempted to pick a berry from the boxes. No one would notice he thought to himself. He didn't sense my presence in the back alleys of the heritage neighborhood in the city of Kashan, when I clicked and captured this moment. Berries his family grow in their garden and the responsibility his parents have given him to later put food on the table and to buy shoes for his feet. You can hear his hungry belly roaring and his temptation to quickly open a lid to one of the boxes and grab a small berry. No one will know, he thinks to himself.
