I finally got to visit East Africa with my son and his aunt after many years of talk. It had been a long-time dream to visit, since my son's family originates from Tanzania. Because of the dreaminess of the landscape and the abstract vision I had carried in my imagination for so many years, I chose to represent the zebras in an atmospheric, ethereal style. I feel this captures the sense of wonder and beauty that I experienced in the moment, much more so than just a picture of zebras would.
