About The Artwork
Triptych, C-Print, Crystalbond/Aludibond, (under Plexiglas), 3 x 70/105 cm, 1997 Year This is a photo – installation, based on a free spatial juxtaposition of two ready – made figurines, taken from “Kindersurprise” – a hollow chocolate egg, sold on the market as presumably highly suitable children’s gift. Apperantly the producers have based their strategy on the doubtless sound idea of combining the sweet with the instructive trough free game – playing. I decided to follow their line of thought, sweetnes in this instance being derived, chocolate missing, from the additional source of spatial combination. The work have been exhibited in 1997 Year in "XXL" Gallery in Sofia in the exhibition "New Radical Practices", curated by Svilen Stefanov.
