About The Artwork
'Lace skirt' was inspired by the Queen Anne's Lace that I found growing in an abandoned lot in Silverdale, WA. My goal was to clothe my model in this natural material (which is generally considered to be a weed), to elevate both the model and the plant itself, and to root them both into the landscape. This piece was a celebration of the natural world, and the beauty of our place in that world, if we choose it.
