Mute Swan - Limited Edition 2 of 10 Photograph

This is a limited edition printed on aluminium in acrylic glass, ready to hang. The Mute Swan was inspired by my late mother-in-law who looked after a mute swan, fed him every day and loved him.She protected him from harm as much as she could, as he was a wild animal.Then she fell ill and could no longer see him and was told he flew into some electricity pylons and unfortunately perished it was devastating.When she died it affected me quite profoundly and I tried to paint her portrait, I could not. Then I saw my inspiration a lone swan sat on a nest, it's expression affected me. I painted it in oils 4ft by 4ft, the original is not for sale despite numerous offers. Afterwards I was told that the swan I saw had lost it's signets to a pike and was sat on the nest mourning her loss just as I was, a connection was made and a painting was born.
