About The Artwork
This photography artwork is printed on prestigious cotton paper Museum Hahnemuhle Etching. Is a natural white cotton art paper with an inkjet coating specially optimized for Fine Art printing. I've created this artwork thinking about our psyche. Our psyche is constituted in harmony with the structure of the universe, and what happens in the macrocosm happens equally in the infinitesimal and more subjective recesses of the soul. In this self-portrait I represent myself half with the body of poppies, and the other with a mirror that reflects my crossed legs. Poppies symbolize: oblivion and sleep. The legs reflected and crossed: uncertainty. There are moments in my life when I feel the urge to immerse myself in a profound dialogue with myself, with my heart. From here arises an investigation that is sometimes uncomfortable but fundamental to return to balance and in harmony with the surrounding life. "

"I don't photograph reality, but what it gushes into me. I do not produce an image that is mere mimesis, it would in itself be a presumption that I would never want to fall into, but I create an image that exudes the emotions it transmits to me. My photographic work begins with my eyes closed, I leave the arduous task of assimilating sensations, emotions, fears, melancholies to the other senses. The result is dreamlike, abstract, surreal, visionary images, the result of the impact that the reality that surrounds me has on me. The purpose is the comparison with the user, to understand how the images I created influence him and what reflections arise from them. The aim is to create a dialogue between me and the observer.
