About The Artwork

This image belongs to a project called Retaliate. “I dreamed that a Rich man or powerful-dictator could enjoy a day on return to nature a bit, at least, of that disgusting city, demolishing houses, removing the pavement of the streets and returning the clean air where there was corruption, the marshes bloom where sewers running, silence where there was the rumble, solitude where thousands of men crowded into overlapping brick tombs.” Gog (Giovanni Papini) This project talks about the role of nature in the cities, about how the presence or abscence of nature can affect people’s lifes. It also deals with urban expansion and how it determines the natural development of the environment, most of the times not in a equal footing but as a surrender.

I was born in Spain in 1979. Graduated in Law at the University of Deusto, I studied photography at the IEFC (Barcelona). In 2006 I started working as a sports photographer but in 2008 I left it to dedicate myself to other kind of projects. Since then I have delved into various disciplines, from documentary to portrait through interior design, events and advertising. In May 2010 I published in the Spanish magazine Neo2 "Indie Rock Beijing", a report about the independent rock scene in Beijing and in November 2009 I participated in the special "The Land of Rock n'Roll" in the Chinese magazine Vision Magazine. I have also published work in Spanish magazines such as Tapas and Vanidad. In 2009 I was selected for the portfolio viewing at TRAFIC'09 (Barcelona Documentary Photography Festival) with the photographer Miguel Trillo. I have attended Photoespaña workshops given by Jim Goldberg (2009) and Lise Sarfati (2010). In the commercial field I have worked for agencies such as Ogilvy One and Sra. Rushmore and brands such as ING, Vodafone or Iberostar. I am currently focused on still life and interior design photography, as well as continuing to develop personal projects.
