Minimalist photography is embedded in the area of "appropriated images". Here I dialogue with the paintings of the Danish artist of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Vilhelm Hammershøi. His art embodies the category of Freud das Unheimliche (familiarity) as a figure of a bourgeois house with its ambivalence. My photography analyzes this category from the point of view of the 21st century and a psychoanalytical perspective. The series "Empty Rooms - Hammershøi" has been created for several years, activating the problem of intertextuality. It shows how the intimate, muted pictures of Hammershøi from a hundred years ago have an impact today. I analyze the microcosm of the photographed interiors and in abandoned rooms, enfilades, ajar doors, I discover the same ambiguity, epistemological uncertainty, and Freudian weirdness. The anxiety caused by my photographs of these untamed spaces is by no means related to the specific aura of noire cinema and psychological cinema (Hitchcock, Antonioni), causing the viewer a suture effect known from film theory (Lacan). Digital print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta 315g (semi-flash), archival paper, acid-free Certificate of Authenticity. Archival file: N32A7122.RAW
