“Sterility test of injectables” 1998, Boehringer Ingelheim, Mexico City. Science, technology and us are inseparable. We are one. For a successful photo session in industry scouting and planning are fundamental. At the Boehringer Ingelheim plant in Mexico City I encountered this clean room with deflated suits and planned the session with the participating microbiologists. On the day of the shoot the visual potential of this hi-tech scene was amazing but impossible to capture. The electronic flashes used to illuminate the scene electrified the metallic structure of the clean room and short circuited each time I pressed the shutter of the Hasselblad Superwide. My assistant Luis Arroyave separated the camera a bit from the clean room structure. Thanks to his intervention I was able to record one of the most significant quality assuring procedures in the pharmaceutical industry. The 91 cm print comes in a limited edition of 9. Title, author and year of manufacture are included on the print. The print comes with a 2.5 cm white border. Made to order on archival cotton paper in 10 days plus shipping.
