In the photograph titled "Time Flies," the viewer is transported to a realm of timeless beauty and fleeting moments, captured in the enchanting embrace of a sunset-lit outdoor scene. Arches and columns frame a picturesque patio, where a pedestal proudly holds a sundial, a symbol of the ceaseless passage of time. The warm glow of the setting sun bathes the entire scene in a radiant, golden light, infusing it with an ethereal and nostalgic ambiance. Several birds, perched gracefully upon the arches, become silhouetted against the vibrant sky, adding a touch of life and movement to the tranquil setting. Their presence evokes a sense of fleeting freedom and the ephemeral nature of time, as if they are messengers of the ever-changing moments that slip through our grasp. The sky itself becomes a canvas of shifting hues, reflecting the colors of the sunset in a breathtaking display of nature's artistry. The interplay of warm oranges, soft pinks, and deep purples creates a mesmerizing backdrop for the scene, imbuing it with a sense of poetic drama and emotional resonance. "Time Flies" captures a moment of profound beauty and contemplation, where the convergence of architectural elegance, natural splendor, and the inexorable passage of time coalesce into a visual symphony. It invites the viewer to pause and reflect on the transient nature of existence, and to find solace in the enduring grace of the world around us.

I have been a photographer for four decades in New York and currently reside in Brooklyn. My body of work is titled Misbegotten Places, which involves creating small dioramas from photographs I have taken. Through careful camera angles and lighting, these dioramas are transformed into lifelike images that can often deceive the viewer, while always conveying a sense of "misbegotten." The lines between reality and fiction are blurred, as these lifelike dioramas, when photographed, often deceive the viewer with their uncanny realism. However, true to the collection's title, "Misbegotten Places," each scene is infused with a subtle element of the unexpected or the out-of-place, challenging the viewer's perception and inviting them to delve deeper into the narratives woven within these meticulously crafted compositions.
