About The Artwork

This work is part of the Imaginarium project. This endeavor is based on the constant search for diverse possibilities of dialogue between figurative images and the abstract-tinted images which result from chemigrams: a procedure of photo development altered with elements of daily usage. I work with table outdoors, load the trays, arrange the tools, clear the space and clear my mind. It becomes impossible to take control of the process. Some sort of natural tension between the intuitive and the automated, between the visible and the invisible, is created. A space for new worlds opens up. A hidden essence is revealed behind each work. I search for tonalities and formal similarities, thus creating infinite compositions. Spaces overlap, gazes get mixed up and both reality (that which figurative photography provides) and “the new reality” (which is created in the unconscious of the observer) are questioned. Images transform into duos, like pairs that meet and unfold under the gaze of the audience, which is invited to observe and feel. This meeting serves as a bridge to diverse perceptions. What comes into play is our gaze, our memories and our sensations. Our form of assimilating abstract and vague information, how we connect it with what we already know and how we receive it. The focus is placed on the metamorphosis of the spaces as places which contain these images and transform into profound instances, blurring to sink into the mind of each spectator.
