About The Artwork

The limited edition fine art photography series "Variations" is an exploration of abstract expressionism that blends past and future influences. Inspired by the Cubism and Futurism art movements of the early 20th century, and titled after the musical concept of variations on a theme, the series uses in-camera multiple exposures, temporary paper combinations, and post-processing techniques to create compositions of shapes, colours, and textures. Each piece in the series is transformed into a unique work of art through subtle changes in tone and colour. The result is a collection of "transitory sculptures" that capture the dynamic interplay of light and shadow, form and movement, harmony and contrast. The fine art photography prints of the series are made with archival pigment inks and fine-art paper, and are available in a range of different sizes.
