About The Artwork
The west coast of Vancouver Island has many beautiful islands and bays, and the light changes through the day and evokes different moods. We camped on this beach , and saw porpoises in the water nearby. Bald eagles are frequently seen perched on snags, looking for floundering fish in the water to snap up a good meal. The concept of this serigraph is very simple and features reflections on gentle water. The design makes good use of what the silk screen does very well: smooth layerings of paint and gradation. Printed on Arches black watercolor paper 22 x 30, the image emerges from the twilight. Through the printing sequence we create the art, and there is no other "original" . The prints were made in the same time frame and are "Multiple Originals".
