Antonello da Messina (1430-1479) is one of the most important Italian artists of the early Renaissance, also known for having introduced oil painting in Italy. The painting "Virgin Annunciate" made in 1476, is one of his masterpieces which, due to its aesthetic beauty, can be defined as "the Mona Lisa of the Sicilians". The Sicilian artist Saro Brancato wanted to pay homage to him by inserting typical elements of pop art in the antique painting, to demonstrate that true art is always current and does not know the oblivion of the centuries. NOTA:this work is printed in full color offset on paper (No digital printing) in a limited edition of 50 copies; each copy is hand signed and numbered by Saro Brancato.
