Aberration means a departure from what is normal, usual, or expected, typically an unwelcome one. In this work I attempted to create my surreal version of a microscope that could be utilised in the examination of truth. The stylised design of the sculpture appears to float in its glass enclosure awaiting acceptance from the viewer. The angular porcupine quills are in direct contrast to the softness of the feathers and both of these obscure the lenses and the reality we wish to see. Truth can be dangerous, it can harmful for those that hear and speak it, especially in these modern times. Truth can be seductive and playful, yet the allure of wanting and even demanding it can lead to the dangers hidden below the surface.
