Description: "Almost" is part of the Ribbon collection. It evokes a sensual and fleeting emotion with its curvaceous and dramatic form. It balances carefully on one side and is perfect on a bookshelf. Dimensions: 3L x 3W x 4.5H in. (approx) Weight: 0.5 lb. Ceramic with satin cream glaze. Piece may have stilt marks, which are small black imperfections from metal stilts used for firing a fully glazed piece. Includes Certificate of Authenticity. Handmade in New York City. About the Collection, Ribbon: A piece of ribbon undulating in the wind in its own agency strikes me as incredibly beautiful. I'm also inspired by the elegance and improbability of Möbius strips (cue memories of mathematics class). This collection of ceramic sculptures is an interpretation of these ephemeral, abstract moments.

Elaine Truong is a self-taught artist best known for her ethereal and highly dynamic compositions in her sculptures and paintings. She has a background in materials science and works with ceramic stoneware, paper, and marble. Her pieces celebrate the elegant beauty and organic flow of abstract forms. Elaine has been painting and sculpting since a young age in Los Angeles, where she grew up, but recently revisited her art practice by creating over 40 commissions for private clients and donating the proceeds. For her unique bas relief sculptures, she uses a variety of surgical scalpels to carve and sculpt thick watercolor paper. She is inspired by nature, organic shapes, and the intersections of mathematics, science, and art. She is passionate about female empowerment, building community, and using art for healing. Elaine has lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Singapore. She currently resides in New York City.
