The night is falling, black and cold.
The snow's crisp under my feet.
I'm trudging home, all alone,
Expecting no one to meet.

This piece is inspired by a very old poem of mine, that I wrote on a very cold winter night. It begins as above stated, then drifts into complete and utter melancholy. So, this creation from waste paper mixed with plaster and resin is more cheerful than my poem - and it has an angel of hope in it, a caregiver angel, offering a soft and reassuring embrace with his/her wings. I see angels all the time these days. I wonder why.

Lightweight. Ready to hang.

About The Artwork

This creation from waste paper mixed with cement, plaster and latex has an angel of hope in it, a caregiver angel, offering a soft and reassuring embrace with his/her wings. I see angels all the time these days. I wonder why. A lot of layers in this exploration of material - softly sculpted and painted in acrylic. Very sturdy, behaves like carved wood. Ready to hang.

Poetry, music, rebellion, femininity, humour and wonder of my world reveal themselves in images, both soft and hard, always mysterious, always in layers of meaning. My stories emerge like flowers opening up their petals, one at a time, as I try to bring to light all the facets of a certain moment in time, of a beautiful memory. But in the end, or in the beginning, it's all about love. I explore painting as a connection to our human vulnerability, of which love is its ultimate manifestation. https://www.instagram.com/gone_with_chinook/
