About The Artwork

My most important topic is the human being - the relationship of people to each other and to the world. As well the sculpture "Balance" deals with this circle of ideas, in this context in the idea of man and world in balance. The sculpture is the three-dimensional, female counterpart to Leonardo da Vinci's "Vitruvian man". While Leonardo's figure perfectly illustrates the popular masculine principle of dealing with the world by expanding out over from a center and exploring the boundaries of the world, my work pursues a different, more feminine strategy: a return to the center, in perfect harmony with the world, it embodies "balance" par excellence. The bipolar harmony of the two globular halves creates the most stable and dynamic form we can imagine: the perfect sphere. In its wholeness, the sculpture represents sustainability, respect and responsibility. Its inner peace, which must not be confused with humility or passivity, is for me the epitome of a strong potential for strenght comparable to the quiet before the storm. The observer is supposed to set the sculpture virtual in motion in order to feel the strong energy dormant in the resting state. Edition of 25, concrete

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

The decision for a specific topic usually results from strong, personal experience. Mostly this is due to a sudden visual or emotional experience. Sometimes I have an intense relation to a special topic which I want to be made visible in my statues. This experience I want to communicate to the viewer by concentration on the artistic representation. My figurative way of sculpting is due to my claim of being easily understood by the viewer.
