About The Artwork

Castanet’s form is an opening bud of cedar, oak, barn wood and found objects. One can hold Castanet in one’s open hands, -revealing itself as a book might. It is light and aromatic- the various woods have been charred, stained and carved, exemplifying the cyclical nature of existence. Sprout, bloom and decay. My assemblage series comes out of the post-minimalist tradition, which this piece in particular exemplifies. It holds nothing in excess, and lacks nothing; yet is tempered by organic, harmonious elements.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Being an artist was a given in my family, one in which my mother and grandfather were both committed artists. I spent every summer of my youth on the shores of Bois Blanc Island, a pristine jewel that would eventually inform and inspire my work. Currently I am focusing on wooden assemblages which are constructed of various woods and found objects. They are in preparation for three upcoming invitational shows.
