About The Artwork
Revival depicts a woman kneeling with her head bowed, evoking a sense of solemn contemplation. Sprouting from her back are a pair of expansive wings that stretch outward, ready to take flight. The wings are intricately colored with earthy tones of sienna, umber, and ochre, the feather tips fading to pale cream. One can imagine an expression of hope and renewal etched across her features. The posture suggests a figure on the cusp of transformation, gathering strength to rise up and soar. Like a phoenix preparing to take wing from the ashes, Revival is symbolic of the resilience of the human spirit emerging reborn after tribulation.
