About The Artwork
This piece is an homage to the exuberance of Van Gogh's Starry Night. However, I've chosen to expand Van Gogh's night sky into the universe and depict spiral galaxies and swirling dust. Like many of my bowls they are just as much fun to look into as to gaze upon them from outside. Each "galaxy" is made separately. The design is woven in a spiral from the center. The individual galaxy designs are then pieced together onto the bowl and then the darker areas are woven in.
