About The Artwork

These ceramic sculptures were made with clay and glazed with a shiny tone that gives expression and light to the volumes. The pieces relate to each other vertically in a dialogue of light and casual forms that dwell between the mineral and the biological. Between the ethereal and the dense. These two pieces are two material indefinitions that are linked without complexes. Dos cuerpos en vertical is a diptych modelled in terracotta and glazed with a semi-translucent enamel in yellow tones. The pieces have brackets to be hung on the wall, occupying the space in a vertical arrangement. Installation measurements: 85 x 17 x 6.50 cm (adding the two pieces on their highest and widest sides and leaving a space of approximately 2 cm between them)

In the relationship between the forms there is a narrative of proximity, of contact, of encounter, and it is probable that this narrative is not only composed of concepts but fundamentally of sensations. In Oscar Barbery's work, sculpture is the verb, it is the action and it is the subject, its formal constitution is the result of representations of the self-determined movement of matter: undefined bodies that attract, compose and project themselves. The relationship between them suggests a new nature or an amplified nature.
