About The Artwork
The object of unclear purpose is formed by a thick ceramic shell hiding tangled construction of fine internal structures and cavities. These infiltrate to the surface in a symmetrical shapes evoking a snout of an animal skull or sci-fi morphology inspired by Aliens. I made it in the period when I was inspired by sci-fi literature and movies. My intention was to work with the contrast between coarse and fine volumes, then connect them into one unity. I hope it seems mysterious to the audience. Whole sculpture is made of ceramic clay and covered with a glossy graphite-colored glaze.
