About The Artwork

Ms. Sabol carved "Emerging Nude" entirely by hand from a single solid block of New Zealand Oamaru limestone. Ms. Sabol spent a month carving the two ton block of stone at The Tareitanga International Sculpture Symposium in Wellington, New Zealand, a prestigious invitational event that features sculptors from all over the world. She sculpted a larger than life-size figure emerging from the block of stone. Pictured here, Ms. Sabol is putting the final touches on the stone-carving. "Emerging Nude" was subsequently purchased by an art collector in New Zealand. Ms. Sabol is available to be commissioned for monumental size stone-carvings suitable for outdoor display as well as smaller pieces.
