What is a bin? We plan to explore this question through our street bins. Giving topic to a conversation that promotes the idea of trash is cool. Identifying what is the content we are passing through these units. Where did this content come from? What is it made of? What are we really doing when we drop items into units we call, bins. An artefact collector. Our bins role is to capture a slice of culture from a particular time period. What will a bin of the future look like? What would a bin on Mars look like? The bin of today is not the bin of our future. What is Floside? Floside is a project that looks to raise attention to the subject of revolutionising the concept of a bin. Here we sell the first generation of un used galvanised steel street bins. This sculptural piece plays a role that allows an owner to participate in the conversation and awakening of these culturally significant items. Items that seem to be evolving in shape and design as our own civilisation enters a new consumer age that demands a need for a bin. As the bin of tomorrow is developing we try here to capture the sculptural realism of a bin of today, 2021.
